The Joy of the Lord…

Describe what God’s love means to you..

Unconditional, steadfast and very warm.

Share three things that bring joy to your heart..

Jesus, worshipping always but especially in song with our Lord, spending time with Todd.

How do you rejoice in the Lord always?

Remembering that He is with me in the good times and not so good times. Knowing He is always there to help pull me through and show me His ways.

If you could meet Paul the Apostle, what would you say to him?

How did you do it?  Share personally how you followed the Lord and spread the Gospel.

What brings you the greatest joy in ministry?

How everything turns out when the Lord’s heart is first and foremost.  It may not be perfect or the best in certain industry standards.  But in the Lord’s way it’s perfect.  To witness that and be a part of it.. Knowing that’s what brings the Lord joy, brings me joy.

Favorite scripture from Philippians and why?

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7

It’s my dad’s favorite.  When he goes through anxious moments, he repeats  it in his mind.  This scripture reminds me to take a breath, slow down my mind and pray. I try to remember all the times in the past God saw me through a dark time. I tell God what has me worried then ask Him to have it all and take care of it. We are human and our emotions sometimes get the better of us but He gives us peace. And in the end, it turns out for the best…. too many of times better than I could’ve envisioned.  The Lord knows better.

Relationships…

Share a time someone showed you deep compassion like Jesus..

Gail Tamashiro was leading the widow’s ministry when my first husband passed away. When I decided to attend, it was humbling. Hearing others stories showed me how blessed I was, with so much to be thankful for. Gail brought me alongside her during a very dispirited time. I saw Gail’s love for Jesus, her walk with Him and how she did life with and for others.  Her compassion for Jesus helped me develop my relationship with Jesus.  I began to seek the Lord more and my relationship with Him grew.

How can friends bless you?

Sharing a short text with a bible verse attached.

(Shh.. She didn’t ask to add this ~ But blessing her with a Cinnabon cinnamon coffee and glazed donut would be awesome.. That’s her favorite.. Oh and according to her love language, a hug and word of encouragement.)

Words of encouragement?

“Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.” Psalm 37:4

How can we pray for you?

Keep us in prayer that we continue to seek the Lord and keep Him the center of our marriage.

Thankful to fellowship in Joy’s awesome story together.  What an honor to spend time with this virtuous and beautiful woman of God.  One of the greatest humans ever.  She truly brightens every room she walks into.  Full of wisdom, deeply caring for others and a heart always after God’s heart.  She embodies kindness, strength and gifting in the kitchen.  Her baking skills are absolutely exquisite, from mango bread to quiche.  Joy is one of the world’s best encouragers.  She really loves Jesus and people.  She knows nothing can contend with the fullness of Jesus.  In highs and lows, her eyes remain on Jesus.

Love is the overflow of joy in God!
God bless you, Joy!
